Baltimore, MD – This week, a new Mexican restaurant has opened in Baltimore County. El Palacio Azteca enjoyed a successful soft opening week on Monday and received positive reviews from its first batch of customers who complimented its authentic Mexican cuisine.
El Palacio Azteca offers a range of classic Mexican dishes, including burritos, tacos, and more. It’s located at 1551 Hyde Park Road in Essex and its opening hours are 9 AM – 10 PM daily. Despite its initial positive reception, El Palacio Azteca will face stiff competition as Essex already has several established Mexican eateries in the nearby area such as El Piquin, Vargas, La Villita, and several others.
As the name of the restaurant suggests, this venue is based on the Aztec culture which eventually formed Mexican civilization as the name roughly translates to ‘Aztec palace’. This is matched by the interior which has a number of Aztec art pieces, and even the tables and chairs are adorned with this vibrant, colorful theme that proudly shows off Aztec history.
was largely based on corn, beans, and chiles, with additional ingredients like tomatoes, squash, and avocados also playing a significant role. Many modern Mexican dishes are influenced by Aztec cuisine, especially in the central and southern regions of the country where the Aztec Empire was centered. As El Palacio Azteca is based on years of culinary history, it’s no surprise that it has impressed locals.
