Nikola opens hydrogen fuel station in California

Ontario, California – Nikola Corporation, a leading innovator in zero-emissions transportation and energy infrastructure solutions, proudly announces the opening of its first HYLA hydrogen refueling station in Southern California. Located at 2445 East Guasti Road in Ontario, California, this station represents a significant milestone in Nikola’s commitment to deploying comprehensive hydrogen refueling solutions for Class 8 trucks.

Featuring an advanced modular fueler, the Ontario station boasts the capacity to refuel up to 40 Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric Class 8 trucks daily. This opening marks the initial phase of a strategic plan to establish 60 hydrogen refueling solutions within the coming years, with nine scheduled to be operational by the close of the second quarter of 2024.

Nikola prioritizes customer experience and ensures a seamless refueling process by providing 24/7 support with on-site HYLA Ambassadors and Operation Technicians. Additionally, the company actively collaborates with industry leaders to secure a robust hydrogen supply chain and develop a comprehensive refueling infrastructure, catering to the needs of its growing customer base.

Furthermore, the anticipated expansion of the HYLA refueling solutions network aims to facilitate the widespread adoption of hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and contribute significantly to the decarbonization of the transportation sector. This network will offer Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and other Class 8 customers diverse and flexible refueling options, encompassing modular and permanent HYLA stations, customer-owned facilities, and partnerships with established public truck stops. Notably, the network includes a recently announced 10-year agreement with FirstElement Fuel for a hydrogen refueling station in Oakland, California.
