MURRAY, Utah – Last week, Gaetano’s Sub Shop finally opened a new eatery based in Murray. Although the initial announcement was made late last year, it took a few months to renovate the new building in preparation for its opening which included new signage and a matching paint job. The new addition is based at 5823 S State St and had a grand opening complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Originally based in Salt Lake City, the original location was opened in 1993 as Gaetano’s Deli quickly became known for its authentic pizza oven and fresh sandwiches. And 50 years later, the brand is still going strong, attracting a loyal following of customers, and has gained a cult following in the area.
As expected, the Murray location’s menu is practically identical when compared to the original location. This includes classic options like Chicken Parmigiana, BLT, and a simple but tasty Chicken sub with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo. If you’re in the mood for something a bit more traditional, they also offer Italian, Ham & Cheddar, and Turkey & Provolone subs, all made with high-quality ingredients and served fresh.
Murray already has a number of sub shops that are predominantly based on S State St. These include the likes of East Coast Subs, Capriotti’s, and Jersey Mike’s. However, based on Gaetano’s years of previous experience in the region, it looks like the eatery should be well-equipped to deal with the local competition.
