SAN FRANCISCO, California – After being closed for nearly one year, Sunflower Restaurant has announced that it has now re-opened for business. The Vietnamese eatery based in Valencia mysteriously shut down in early 2023. At one point, it was even listed on Google as being permanently closed. However, as abruptly as it closed, it has now returned which will be welcome news for fans of the joint.
This was made clear by a sign left on its window which read: ‘Sunflower Restaurant is opening at 3111 16th St. Tuesday – Sunday 12 PM to 9 PM.’ This is not to be confused with the other Vietnamese restaurants in the city which are also named Sunflower (in other locations).
Due to the mystery of the initial closure, it is not understood why Sunflower Restaurant initially closed. Despite its absence, the original signage always remained in place indicating that its closure was never meant to be permanent.
Established in 1994, Sunflower has been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine for over 25 years. The menu features a wide range of dishes, from traditional soups and imperial rolls to signature entrees like Five Spice Chicken and BBQ Pork. The restaurant also offers a lunch special that includes soup, imperial roll, salad, and a choice of main course. Over the years, this eatery has gained a solid reputation in San Francisco for its no-frills menu and authentic cuisine.
