City sewer project gets underway

Over the past few days, the City of Mount Vernon has informed the community of the upcoming commencement of a sewer project within the Summersville area. This project is scheduled to begin today and is anticipated to continue until the summer months. Its primary objective is to enhance the overall infrastructure of the aforementioned region.

Affected Roads:

  • Burn Avenue
  • East Harrison Street
  • Airport Road
  • Meadowbrook Road
  • Wagner Road
  • White Avenue
  • Oak Avenue
  • Griffin Street

Please be advised that this list may not be exhaustive, and additional roads may be incorporated within the project’s scope. Residents are encouraged to visit the City Projects page for detailed maps outlining the project area.

Potential Traffic Disruptions and Detours:

During the construction period, residents and commuters are kindly requested to be mindful of potential traffic disruptions. Please adhere to all posted detour signs for safe and efficient navigation around the construction zone. The City of Mount Vernon appreciates your patience and cooperation as we strive to improve the community’s infrastructure. Currently, it is not known how long these delays will last.
