Agave restaurant to close at the end of March

Established Mount Vernon eatery, Agave Mexican Restaurant, announces its closure after over twelve years of service to the local community. The restaurant, located at 300 South 44th Street, will cease operations permanently on Sunday, March 31st. A final opportunity to experience their cuisine will be available on Saturday, March 30th.

News of the closure was announced on their Facebook post which read as follows: “Due to current situations, including but not limited to the significant lease increase, payroll increases, and general food cost increases and an oversaturated market, the Minquiz family have decided to bring a 13-year story to an end,” the statement reads. “We wish to take a chance on making fresh starts, creating new concepts, and spending more of our valuable time focused on our precious family.”

This family-owned and operated establishment will continue to serve its patrons with their customary hours of operation until the closure date. Agave Mexican Restaurant is a popular dining spot located in Mount Vernon, Illinois, at 300 South 44th Street.
