IKEA has just unveiled a new Plan & Order Point with Pick-up facility in Charlotte, NC, scheduled to launch in the summer of 2024. Situated in the Promenade on Providence shopping center, this initiative is designed to offer Charlotte residents easier access to IKEA’s services, focusing on personalized interior design consultations with IKEA experts.
This novel IKEA South Charlotte venue represents a key component of IKEA U.S.’s expansion strategy, aimed at enhancing the brand’s accessibility and adapting to the diverse shopping preferences of its customers. Unlike its larger counterparts, this more compact format allows for a tailored shopping experience, where customers can engage directly with IKEA staff to design and order complex home furnishing solutions, including kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms. All products will be available for delivery, ensuring a seamless and convenient way to receive items either at home or at a designated pick-up location.
Having served the Charlotte community since its first store opening in 2009, IKEA is set to enhance its local presence with this new 15,000-square-foot facility at the outdoor Promenade on Providence shopping center. Although the IKEA Charlotte location will continue to be the go-to for IKEA Food and the beloved meatballs, the new IKEA South Charlotte adds a layer of accessibility and affordability for the wider metropolitan area.
As one of five new format stores announced this year, IKEA is committed to broadening its reach, including the introduction of city center Plan & Order Points, enhanced e-commerce capabilities, and improved service offerings such as new IKEA Family benefits, reduced shipping costs, Click & Collect, and TaskRabbit assembly services.
