In security footage, a “red 2002 Ford Ranger could be seen” but officials never got eyes on the man they believe to be terrorizing the Texas capitol since March 2.  They found the man behind the bombings by searching for everyone with the same make and model vehicle, and through his hands. The man was wearing pink construction gloves. Investigators found the type of gloves they were and where they can be sold. They found that the gloves can be sold at Home Depot. The investigators went through every security video from each Home Depot around Austin, Texas. The video appeared to show the same suspect. After whittling down the number of potential suspects, the investigators “whittled down the number of license plates and began tailing a handful of people.” The man who investigators believe to be the Austin serial bomber “turned out to be Mark Conditt” (Nytimes.com).

SWAT officers closed in on Mark Conditt, a “23-year-old man from the Austin suburbs with no criminal record” (Nytimes.com), who ignited one of his homemade bombs in a car which killed him before officers could reach him. The trail of homemade explosions left two people dead and several people injured.
