The House Republicans are starting an investigation under the oversight of Chairman Trey Gowdy. The investigation is looking at the uranium deal and why Congress was not informed by the FBI.
The uranium deal was between the “US and Russia while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.” President Donald Trump and other Republicans have accused the Russian uranium company of donating to the Clinton Foundation in order to sway Clinton to sign off on the deal. Clinton told C-SPAN “that the accusations were ‘baloney’ and that it had been ‘debunked repeatedly’” (Cnn.com).
This new investigation could make more tensions on the intelligence committee that is investigating the Russian election interference.

The foundation may have taken a total amount of money “around four million dollars” (Foxnews.com).
Many top officials of the Obama administration reviewed the uranium deal. It was also reviewed by President Barack Obama himself.
This deal looks like it just goes to the Clinton Foundation, going “far deeper into a democratic administration than anyone within the party wants to admit” (Foxnews.com). Many people are wondering “why they sold America’s national security for the uranium-market equivalent of 30 pieces of silver” (Foxnews.com).
During the investigation, the committee found many informants that signed a nondisclosure about the uranium deal. Congress sent a letter to the Justice Department urging them to lift the nondisclosure so they can speak to the informants.
