Scott Kawall, Director of Student Involvement, hosted the first annual Intramural Table Tennis Doubles Tournament on October 10, 2017. The tournament was held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the student lounge. There were a total of 24 participants. The student champions were Omar Lopez and Aaron Huftalin, and the consolation champions were Krystal Gundy and Miranda Maples, who represented the staff. The rules of the game were identical to that of normal table tennis, except it was played in doubles format, meaning players alternated hitting the ball.

The goal of the event was to get students to “connect outside of the classroom with other students, staff, and faculty (if possible) in a fun environment,” according to Scott Kawall. He explained that “students tend to be more successful the more active they are in activities on campus,” as opposed to going home immediately after class.

If anyone is interested in participating in future Intramural Student Involvement activities, there will be a 3-on-3 co-ed recreational volleyball tournament on November 6 and 8. The following week, there will be a bags tournament on November 15.
