Last week, you were given a list of guys that were safe to play in week three and ones that were not safe to play. This week, we are changing it up a little bit. Some of you might be in a situation where you have had a bad matchup at a certain position, and you need a backup plan. Right here is a list of players that have good matchups, and should be considered as a good backup plan for your fantasy team this week.

Deshaun Watson vs Tennessee Titans

  • Deshaun had a good game against the Patriots with 301 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, and 41 rushing yards. Tennessee gave up a ton of points to the Seahawks, and are going on the road. This week, Watson is a good play.

Carson Palmer vs San Francisco 49ers

  • Palmer looked great against Dallas, and this game should not be overwhelming for him. They are playing at home again, and they must win if they want to have a chance this year at the playoffs.

Wendell Smallwood @ Los Angeles Chargers

  • Because Darren Sproles is out for the season, Smallwood is likely the one to replace him in that offense. Likely a good PPR option, but also watch out for Corey Clement as well in that backfield.

Duke Johnson Jr. vs Cincinnati Bengals

  • This game might be close, and we saw what happened last week when the Browns were trying to fight back. Duke Johnson caught 6 passes for 81 yards and had a touchdown. Game script looks good for him though.

Mike Gillislee vs Carolina Panthers

  • The game script looks good this week for Gillislee. The Panthers are going to likely be losing this game, which means the Patriots will have to run the ball, and that is Mike Gillislee’s role in this offense.

Marqise Lee @ New York Jets

  • Mainly for PPR leagues, Marqise Lee has a good matchup this week against the Jets defense, and will see a lot of targets from Blake Bortles.

Davante Adams vs Chicago Bears

  • This is not a player on waivers but if you have him this week, Adams should have a solid game. He has a nice matchup and should see targets from the great Aaron Rodgers.

Cooper Kupp @ Dallas Cowboys

  • This Dallas defense gave up some points to the once struggling Arizona offense, and this week the Rams are coming into town. Cooper Kupp should act as a safety valve for Jared Goff and will see a ton of targets.

Charles Clay @ Atlanta Falcons

  • Charles is the main pass catcher in this Buffalo offense and Atlanta is about an average defense when it comes to defending the TE. Clay has quietly produced so much this season, having two touchdowns already.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

  • ASJ is back! Not really an exciting statement but ASJ is a good backup option. Jenkins caught 5 passes for 31 yards against the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville is not good at defending the TE so think about it.
