With what’s going on in the world, such as the bombing of Syria, you may think our relationship with Russia is not holding up well. Russia has just announced that their relationship with America is wilting away as of Wednesday, Apr 12th, 2017.  The reason for this is because of Russia’s reaction the United States attack on Syria.

“One could say that the level of trust on a working level, especially on the military level, has not improved but has rather deteriorated,” Putin said in an interview broadcast on Russian television. The broadcast took place moments after Tillerson sat down with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an ornate hall.

With a trust level going down between the two countries and with the recent bombings, we might have a second cold war on our hands. According to the Huffington post the bombing on Syria was to punish Bashar al-Assad, Russia’s ally, for being suspected of gas poisoning.

“Our relationship with Russia is not good,” said Sydeny Hanchett, a Psychology major. “But nobody really knows if it is good or bad.” While Abburrahman a high school freshmen said, “Our relationship is ok.”

With not many people knowing the status of our relationship, nobody can predict what lies in the future for the two countries or if the relationship will be fixed, or broken. The White House has accused Moscow of trying to cover up Assad’s use of chemical weapons, after 87 people were killed by chemical weapons last week. This can make a dent in the relationship worse as well. Only the future can tell what to look for in the relationship.
