It’s February, which brings with it the most prestigious awards show in Hollywood. The 88th annual Academy Awards ceremony is set to take place on February 28th and is being hosted this year by Chris Rock.

With all the controversy surrounding the Oscars this year with the #OscarsSoWhite campaign causing a major restructuring of the voting system, all eyes will be on the nominees this year to see who gave the best performances in motion pictures. From Leonardo DiCaprio’s continuing pursuit of his first Oscar win to Eddie Redmayne’s second nomination in a row following his win last year, here are the nominees for the major categories in this year’s Oscar race:

Best Visual Effects: Ex Machina, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Martian, The Revenant, and Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Best Original Score: Thomas Newman for Bridge of Spies, Carter Burwell for Carol, Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight, Johann Johannsen for Sicario, and John Williams for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Best Cinematography: Edward Lachman for Carol, Robert Richardson for The Hateful Eight, John Seale for Mad Max: Fury Road, Emmanuel Lubezki for The Revenant, and Roger Deakins for Sicario.

Best Editing: Hank Corwin for The Big Short, Margaret Sixel for Mad Max: Fury Road, Stephen Mirrione for The Revenant, Tom McArdle or Spotlight, and Maryann Brandon and Mary Jo Markey for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Best Original Screenplay: Matt Charman and Ethan and Joel Coen for Bridge of Spies, Alex Garland for Ex Machina, Pete Docter, Meg LeFauve, Josh Cooley, and Ronnie Del Carmen for Inside Out, Josh Singer and Tom McCarthy for Spotlight, and Andrea Berloff, Jonathan Herman, Leigh Savidge, and Alan Wenkus for Straight Outta Compton.

Best Director: Adam McKay for The Big Short, George Miller for Mad Max: Fury Road, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for The Revenant, Lenny Abrahamson for Room, and Tom McCarthy for Spotlight.

Best Supporting Actress: Jennifer Jason Leigh for The Hateful Eight, Rooney Mara for Carol, Rachel McAdams for Spotlight, Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl, and Kate Winslet for Steve Jobs.

Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale for The Big Short, Tom Hardy for The Revenant, Mark Ruffalo for Spotlight, Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies, and Sylvester Stallone for Creed.

Best Actress: Cate Blanchett for Carol, Brie Larson for Room, Jennifer Lawrence for Joy,Charlotte Rampling for 45 Years, and Saoirse Ronan for Brooklyn.

Best Actor: Bryan Cranston for Trumbo, Matt Damon for The Martian, Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant, Michael Fassbender for Steve Jobs, and Eddie Redmayne for The Danish Girl.
