If the “What Color Is The Dress?” controversy drove you crazy, the Internet has a new stumper for you. This time, it’s asking, “When is Cheryl’s Birthday?”

People around the world have been stumped trying to solve this logic problem, discovered on social media late last week.

It originated from the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad competition, intended to test the better sophomores and juniors in Singapore.  The problem has since gone viral when Kenneth Kong, a television host in Singapore, posted it to Facebook.

In the problem, Cheryl’s friends Albert and Bernard are trying to figure out when her birthday is.  She gives them 10 possibilities: May 15, May 16, May 19, June 17, June 18, July 14, July 16, August 14, August 15, or August 17. Cheryl tells Albert the month, while she tells Bernard the day. After some conversation between Bernard and Albert, they decide they have figured out when Cheryl’s birthday is.

The real question is, can you?

Unfortunately, Cheryl’s last name was not given, so Facebook won’t be much help. Here’s a video tutorial to help walk you through the problem.

If you’re like most of us, it’s probably safe to say this problem had you like…
