Social Media Trends

Quarantine has left most people with a lot more free time. Some people have used that time to follow some new social media trends to help keep them entertained. Here’s some popular social media trends that are going on:

TikTok Challenges

Lately, TikTok has been becoming more popular. It’s a way for people to cure their boredom. They can watch a variety of videos, or create their own by joining in on a TikTok challenge. TikTok challenges usually consist of people lip-syncing to songs or dancing.

Until Tomorrow

This is a social media challenge that consists of posting an embarrassing picture of yourself and adding the caption, “Until Tomorrow.” After 24 hours, the picture is deleted. Also, anyone who likes the picture will get a message from the person who posted it, nominating them for the challenge.

Template Memes

These have been around for a while, but have been making a comeback due to quarantine. Instagram accounts like @miafrda, @kayxstars, and @leahferezan make bingo boards and other fun styles of templates that make people choose “this or that” in regards to simple things. These can be fun for someone on their own, or they can tag their friends to join in on the fun!

Quarantine Memes

While this period of self-isolation is upon us, people try to find anything to make them laugh while staying indoors. As memes usually do, they find a common thread between all of us and remind us that we really aren’t as alone as we think we are. All over Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, many quarantine and Covid-19 memes are available, and they’re something that can make just about anyone laugh.

Female Empowerment Challenge

This challenge asks women to tag 10 of their friends after posting a picture of themselves. The action seems simple at first, but the message associated with it is a tremendous one that deserves to be recognized. By tagging 10 female friends, women are showing that they are uplifting their friends in a society that likes to watch women tear each other down.

These social media trends are a great way to pass the time and some of them can help people find out more things about you, and help you boost your confidence. Go ahead and try one out!
