A Look Into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a surreal brand-new addition to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. Stepping into the land, you immediately feel like you’re transitioning into another world in the Star Wars galaxy. It doesn’t even feel like you’re in a Disney park, you are fully encapsulated in an intergalactic surrounding. The detail put into the architecture and props is amazing to witness, although unsurprising considering how detail oriented Disney parks usually are. The enormous life-sized display of the Millennium Falcon is something to take your breath away, whether you’re a die-hard fan or not.

Galaxy’s Edge also includes different places to get some Star Wars inspired food and drinks, like “Oga’s Cantina”. Here you can get the famous blue milk that is seen in the movies and you can even spike it with some alcohol, if you’re of age of course. At “Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo”, you can get some story-inspired food like, Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip. Including food and drink like this adds to the entire experience of being on a Star Wars planet, and is a great addition.

The coveted ride, “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” is a nearly impossible ride to get on, unless you are a devoted amusement park goer. The boarding pass that you need to get a spot on the ride usually sells out in the first couple of minutes of the park opening. Along with this, the other ride “Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run”, is another ride that had an ungodly long wait. Disney does offer interactions that you can do during the wait in line on their Play Disney Parks app.  However, the experience of this ride is astounding for any Star Wars lover, as you are able to literally fly the Millennium Falcon in an interactive heist. This ride is definitely worth the wait, especially if you didn’t get to the park early enough to claim a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance.
